About Truckee Meadows Soccer Association
This isn’t the hyper-competitive, scream-at-the-ref, ruin-your-week kind of soccer. This is, good runs (sometimes), great people, just enough competition and a drink after. We play every Thursday night from April through August. Show up, get a run in, meet your people.
The Teams:
You don’t need a squad. You don’t need a resume. You don’t even need to be in shape (we’ll figure that out together). Sign up as an individual and we build balanced teams.
The Players:
A little bit of everyone, former players, “I haven’t played in years, but let’s see what happens”, total beginners. Men 35+ and Women 25+. If you’re a good teammate and don’t take yourself too seriously, you’ll fit right in.
The Vibe:
Yes, we keep score. Yes, we try to win. But if winning is your whole personality…this might not be your league. We care more about good sportsmanship and having fun.
The Rules:
A few ground rules, No slide tackling (we all have work tomorrow), Respect the refs (even when you disagree), Play clean and keep it fun.
League History
Back in 2005, a group of players realized they weren’t quite ready to hang it up…but also weren’t built for the ultra-competitive leagues anymore. So they created something better. A league where, everyone gets to play, teams are balanced.
It started with a few teams and turned into a Reno tradition.
